Arts Collaboratory

Founders

Artscollaboratory is an initiative of two Dutch foundations: Hivos and Stichting DOEN, carried out in co-operation with the Mondriaan Foundation.

Hivos and DOEN see arts and culture as an important aspect of sustainable development of societies and support independent, innovative and critical cultural organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin-America.
The Mondriaan Foundation supports visual arts, design and cultural heritage in the Netherlands and abroad and aims at strengthening the international ties between them.

Mission

In view of the immense growth of international exchange within the visual arts, Arts Collaboratory aims to give an impulse

• to the further diversification and the quality of this exchange process;
• to increase the participation from artists from Africa, Asia and Latin-America
• to contribute to the deepening and sustainability of the exchange processes
• to the increase of knowledge on art from Africa, Asia and Latin-America in the Netherlands and vice versa.

Programmes

Arts Collaboratory supports three programmes: cultural entrepreneurship, knowledge sharing and the Dutch connection.
