The organisation Más Arte Más Acción was founded in 2005 by Fernando Arias, one of Colombia's most famous visual artists, and arts manager Jonathan Colin.
The projects of Más Arte Más Acción are rooted in the social and cultural context of the country. Through interdisciplinary projects with local, national and international target groups, the organisation aims to contribute to innovative thinking and cultural exchange and give voice to people that have been marginalised from mainstream culture.
The MAMA mission is to generate interdisciplinary art projects. They work with artists and writers who explore challenging social and environmental issues, often involving educational projects with people from communities silenced by lack of opportunity. Working with partners, funders and the media they stimulate cultural exchange and dialogue to strengthen contemporary arts practice in Colombia and beyond.
