Arts Collaboratory

The residencies at KHOJ have delibeartely focused on marginalized or nascent areas of contemporary art practice in India. The programming is further structured so each genre is allowed an appreciable time within which to come to fruition. As a consequence each genre is made a consistent part of the program for at least 3-4 years, so it can be explored from multiple perspectives resulting in a richer more varied discourse and history. Each year KHOJ programs a pilot residency or project which depending on its reception and success may or may not grow into the regular program structure. Experience of such consistent programming has proved that it is a key strategy towards nurturing experimental and cutting edge practice over the long term.
